Pedal Power LED lit night soccer! Answered

My school entered into a "pedal power video" competition, the challenge was to make a video showing how to use alternative sources of energy, so my school had a soccer game at night where we lit the field up using pedal power and generators. This was done by attaching a belt to the back wheel of a bike and hooking it up to a treadmill motor working in reverse for power. Enjoy!

*sigh* if only a place like this had been around when I was younger. I was kind of the 8th grade Science teacher's apprentice of sorts :-)

Yeah the science department at my school is wonderful, the man in the video with the Chinese accent is my physics teacher and my teacher for intro to engineering and he gives extra credit when i show him things that I build and explain to him.

Hmm, allowing for a 15 speed bike with the gears still attached would make the ride a lot easier.
