Problems with Laser Module Diode Answered

So I have a 5mw laser diode module that I am trying to get open so that I can install a 250 mw diode in its place. Problem is, the diode won't come out, the manufacturer glued it in, and I keep buying new modules from different sellers only to find inexplicably the stupid diode backing slathered in glue. Is there a way of getting this thing out? I don't care if the diode is broken, I don't need it, but I want the driver intact.

Your problem is that you're not buying the right things.
You think a driver for a 5mW diode will give you 50x the output?
Buy a suitable driver, e.g. http://www.lasersurplusparts.com/shop/product.php?id_product=58

Did I incorrectly read the Kipkay flashlight laser burner hack then? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgJ0EpxjZBU

It seems he just uses the driver from the module. Sorry for my ignorance, I am a little confused on this.

You just want a housing, or the driver-module?
See this for more details on building these things:

I sorta assumed both. It appears from that tutorial that you sent me, that they used it for the driver-module too. hmmm?
