Purl stitch? Answered

Hey Becky. I am doing a scarf with full purl before moving onto the rib stitch. My purl stitches looks similar to the garter stitches from the 1st project. Is this right? I have attached photos of them. Are the two stitches supposed to look similar?

As the lesson describes, a purl stitch is just a knit stitch in reverse. Flip one around and you've got the other. So a scarf knit entirely from purl stitches will look the same as a scarf made from entirely knit stitches, since the rows are alternating direction as you flip the scarf around after each row. If you were to knit one row, then purl the next, it'll come out looking quite different from one side to the next (this is "stockinette" stitch).
