Quick and cheap disposable receivers? Answered

I want to make a lot of them for very cheap.. i want them to be small and simple and im not worried about security or anything between transmitter and receiver just want to make it able to work from about 100 feet or less.. They only need to be a one-channel momentary type.  i also want to be able to use different transmitters (*not worried about size of transmitter, but i want it to be portable*) to control them.. basically i want a bunch of clones of receivers.  Any suggestions ? Thanks in advance..

PS: I CAN solder

Is this a radio control or communication project?

I don't have the part numbers handy, but there are a pair of chips used in some RC toys which provide most of a short-range transmitter and receiver -- you just need to add switches for the inputs and drivers for the outputs. Not easy to find in single-quantity, but cheap when you do find them.

Or you could just rescue the circuitry from a broken RC toy.

Anything cheap is going to be prone to picking up lots of noise...

1) small

3) range <100 feet
4) one channel, momentary contact

Why not use some cheap FM radios? You can get them from Dealextreme for $2.50, including headphones and shipping, when you buy 10 or more.
