Sounds to me like a chowder with peas.

Whole whole or split whole and not ground up?
Whole whole! I'd appreciate any ideas you have.
I'd start with a white sauce that you like, mine would be some diced onions cooked in butter/margarine until transparent, add (in this case) some ham and ham juice for flavor and salt (salt is in the ham, I don't cook with much salt), some water and diced carrot if you like them. Add a bay leaf, little pepper and/or crushed garlic. Let it cook for a while, then add peas and cook some more. Then mix up some flour and water or milk and water and add that in to thicken it. Probably serve with bread for dinner or alone for lunch.
That made me hungry : ) I wonder if we have some peas....
Sounds good, but not really what I was looking for. Thanks anyway!
