Should I use a flux pen?
While soldering, some contacts don't want to take the solder even after heating it. I think some of them might be dirty. Could I use a no-clean flux pen like this to clean the contacts and also make soldering a little easier?
Using a flux pen on old boards is a very good idea. If the board is very old too, you can scrub the contacts with special fibre glass brush.

Do you recommend the no-clean kind?

Yes, I haven't seen the other kind for a long time !

Thanks for your help! I decided to go with a mild rosin flux pen because I use 60/40 rosin-core solder.

Don't ask "should?" - it's too vague. What you want to know is whether it's worth buying?

Flux is to soldering what beatings are to slavery - you can't have one without the other.
