Single thread free end? Answered

So when you are single threading, there is a knot on one end of the thread, it goes through the needle and then sticks out 3-5 inches but is dangling there free? So the skill comes in not pulling the tail through the needle every time you pull?

Yup! It's all about pinching the end thread to the needle so it doesn't slide through. I try to hold the needle right near the end so it's easier to make sure the thread can't get free. :)
