The 1 o'clock-in-the-morning Thread Answered

Welcome to the 1 o'clock thread. This is pretty much off-topic, but there's a rule:
you can only post after 1 o'clock, your time.

Just to be specific:
  • Once you go to sleep, even a nap, you can't post until the next day.
  • If you manage to polyphastically sleep, or you don't go to bed until 6AM, somehow making you awake at 1, wait until you're tired.

The point is to see how we are on the brink of insanity... this post, as you may or may not see, was written around 1... and I think it shows.

Wow, personal best here. I've been up 'till 3:00 reading Little Brother. I enjoy reading at night because it's the only time I can get some peace and quiet!

It's a good book to read like that, I opened the file around 8pm one night and finished it in the early hours...

Select as Best AnswerUndo Best Answer

user

Yea. I normally don't go past 1 or 2AM when reading. I looked up at the clock and did a double take. I could have gone longer, but I figured I was at the end of the chapter and needed to draw the line somewhere.

I also set a personal record for longest sleep-in, 1PM.

I got caught up in the book because I hadn't slept much and started reading and that was it...

Yea, that book is addicting! Once you start it's hard to stop. I've never stayed up 'till 4:00AM reading a book. Maybe once with one of the Harry Potter books, I don't remember.

Yeah I've read it a couple of times now and It's a great book, something I've recommended to my mum and brother, mu brother wasn't too in to it because he's a little devoid of issues like that and my mum hasn't started but wants to read it...

Heads up, KANahas. If you use the brackets, it makes it a link. Even if it's not http://

So when doing parenthesis inside parenthesis I use these {

(if not it looks like [this this])

Yeah, I was just letting you know. We actually have a member here who has been a member for a long time and still does that. But then again he doesn't put the http:// at the beginning of the site when he types it in, so it always comes out like:
https://www.instructables.com/community/the-1-oclock-Thread/www.google.com
But just a heads that you need to put the http at the beginning of a link, for future reference.

Been up since 7am yesterday. Six more hours till I can sleep. Well maybe I can sleep a little as I'm driving home. I'm in the car, which is good. It's hard to sleep when I ride the motorcycle.

I pay higher insurance because of others who don't wear their seatbelts or helmets. I also pay higher insurance because of others who neglect to carry any at all.

I'm actually not that tired.

Right, I qualify properly now - as I type it's 00:34 UK time.

I'm watching Serenity on DVD and avoiding going to bed, even though I am dead tired - Kitewife is away for the night, taking #2 son for his next lot of lithotripsy. They're not back until ten tomorrow night.

You know, I really don't like going to bed alone...

. Yeah. We knew what you meant, but I just couldn't resist. Context made the error quite humorous (to me, anyway).
.
. I'm surprised I caught it before Kiteman (AKA The Spelling/Grammar Nazi) did. Score one for the Yanks! And, yes, humorous IS the correct spelling. :P
