green papaya and star anise for pork.use pork belly.rub salt and green papaya(no skin,no seeds) paste,sprinkle some powderered star anise .wrap in cling wrap and leave to marinade overnight.Roast the next day

Go buy yourself a dozen different spices from the grocery store. They will only be about $1 each. Smell them all and combine some that smell suitable to your tastes and combine to make your rub. Add some salt and pepper to taste. You will find those 12 spices very valuble for many cooking needs.

Just yesterday I had pork tenderloin with a barbecue rub from Pampered Chef. I'm not sure how much it costs, but it was fantastic.
