There was a parrot in our tree! (updated) Answered

Picture of

I was on the computer and my dad came inside and told me there was a parrot in our tree! So I grabbed my camera and ran outside. It's a really beautiful bird. We got it to go onto someone's arm and then got it into our garage. Then it landed on my arm so my dad tried to come catch it with a box and it almost got stuck in my hair. Eventually we got it in the box and brought it over to my neighbors house (she was helping us catch it) because my mom would have a cow if she came home and saw that I had a parrot. They're going to call the police department and stuff so they most likely won't be able to keep it :(

Update The neighbors had the parrot for quite a while and they had put an and in the newspaper and everything and then they gave it to one of their friends to take care of and then later the person who owned the bird came back from vacation and contacted them about it. I'm not sure what happened after that.

What did you do with the bird? It appears to be a black crested conure.

Our neighbor ended up giving it to one of their friends who would be able to take care of it. It's funny you bumped this today, cause I saw a guy mowing his lawn with a parrot on his shoulder this afternoon!

Shame it couldn't tell you its address.

Still, he's a nice temporary friend, and if he's not claimed then maybe your neighbour could keep him and you can go visit.

We have flocks of wild parakeets in the UK: years of escapees have become a sustainable population.

That would make it a lot easier! Yes he is, except for the very sharp beak... I really hope his owner is found but if it isn't he'll be taken care of well at my neighbor's house.

Yeah I dunno what's going to happen to him. If no one claims it and the neighbors don't want it maybe I can get my mom to let me keep it :D Haha yeah that would have been awesome!
