Top guard? Answered

What I have missed in this very good tutorial is the use of the top guard or crown guard. An important safety device sometimes attached to the riving knife.
Don't you use them?

Excellent question!

The crown guard is a very important piece of safety, but not something that is standard with all saws. Aftermarket crown guards aren't common, since they attach to the riving knife and not all riving knives are the same (or have common attachment points). If your saw comes with one, you should use it.
