Yeah, but I only know of one kid that does it but I still haven't met the whole team.
oh, i think thats the funnest thing to watch in the world. especially practices when they are teaching a new kid and they mess up.
ive seen some nasty falls...
I wanted to do pole vault this year but my friend said that the coach told her that the pole can break and impale you.
Today I was practicing hurdles and I completely wiped out. It was really funny though.
hahahahahahahahahahahaha i imagine it could...
maybe if you were using a wooden one lol.
hurdles hurt.... i wonder why they dont make them so the support bars are uin front of them so they fall backwards alot easier. i guess because you can trip over them...
If you jump over a hurdle with the support bar on the front and you trip you will face plant. I'm glad they don't have them cemented into the ground...
is there someone who runs and sets them back up? like ballboys in tennis?
They dont really do that at my school, the hurdles mostly just pop back up.
ohhhh, the ones at our school are like a big L
That's how ours are but they come back up really easily.
oh, ours go back about as far as they are high.
but then again, ours are really old. we even have some wooden ones!
At some schools the bottoms of the hurdles are like that...
Do you ever use the wooden ones?
not personally, but i have seen the Junior Varsity use them.
half of them are broken in some way or another
I don't think I would ever want to use them. I can just imagine running into one...The other day I was at one of the high school track meets because our team had to work there and it was raining, as usual, so I brought a garbage bag to put on and one of my friends had a poncho. I was wearing the poncho with the garbage bag over it and this really creepy guy that I absolutely hate came up to me and told me I looked sexy. He scares me...
He's too creepy though!
Seriously! If you met him you'd be scared
hahaha well, 4 hour bus rides in the dark with a lacrosse team can get kinda weird too...
LOL I bet.
yea, its best if this isnt discussed any further on the web (we have some under 18-ers on this site...)haha
Today at track practice I fell when I jumped over a hurdle. I think I jumped too soon. I had pink fuzz stuck to my knee from my sweatpants....
lol you have to wear pink sweatpants?
i fell off a bike and had black fuzz stuck in my side once. it hurt rally bad getting it out too.
We don't HAVE to wear them. I just choose to.
wellll, theres a creepy guy hitting on you.
you choose to wear pink sweats...
they are SOOO not related... lol
There's also the ten year olds at Sunbanks....
They were hitting on my friend and I
"Hit" (as in pound in to the ground) on them!
I was going to, but then I had to put something in the car.
I actually did pole vault for our last 3 meets, my highest was 6 feet.
huh. well, i guess it makes sense because the pole needs to be able to flex and it stores a lot of power...
Mainly overused or older poles break, but I heard someone say once, you can break a newer one if you do it wrong *shrug*
hahaha well then how do you learn?!?!?!?
Slowly :-) Remember, it is not true that practice makes perfect; only perfect practice makes perfect (practice it wrong and you only learn how to do it wrong, consistently) ;-)
good lord dont i know it...
I polevault, it's my second season right now. I'm up at around 10 feet, I haven't seen any major falls though... bummer.
Lacrosse over here. We had a scrimmage today, we won by a decent margin. We have a young team so hopefully we can do well this year and rebound for a great next two years.
I might start varsity for a couple games, but I probably will be first or second back-up on attack.
I'm doing track :D
Cool what do you run/throw ?
I run hurdles :D They're fun. I also do discus and long jump. I'm not very good at discus....
You mean Spring sports? (Unless you're from Australia or something.)
lol yeah, wasn't thinking. I'll fix it.
