Transistor Substitute Answered

Hey! I'm attempting again to make a wireless FM transmitter. The project plans call for a BC547C transistor, which is pretty common but I don't have any. Can I use a 3904 or a 2N222A instead?

Thanks!

NTE has a decent conversion for their
parts but if you use it right, you can see what is similar to what.
like results for parts mean they are possibly alike.

search the term "bc547c equivalent". up will pop data sheets of transistors and their values and characteristics and such. if you compare other NPNs you DO have, you'll find a likely substitute. after that, breadboard with that transistor to make sure it will do the work. sorry this answer is not a booming voice from the sky, but its a place to start, and learn. good luck.
