Truckers picking up quilting and other hobbies Answered

Love this story in the Wall Street Journal about truckers picking up new hobbies due to fewer jobs. While they used to have just an hour or two between jobs, now they'll have a couple days. Now there are many truckers spending time learning photography, sewing, knitting, and more.

nice rig man

I am a Trucker, and I have picked up many new hobbies.  After I was put out of business by the economy, I went to the Middle East to drive trucks.  I still have lots of sitting around time, so I have taken up learning HIndi language, mastering the game of Monopoly, and rewriting public domain books to sell on Lulu.

That's interesting. Please share how to win at Monopoly, as it's largely on dice, the finer points would maybe make a good Instructable?

The dice and chance are a substantial factor, however trading skills, balancing cash flow with building hotels and adding property's is a greater part to winning.  I can usualy beat the electronic monopoly game on its hardest setting against 3 opponents about 2/3 to 3/4 of the time.

Which one?
Or do you mean that there doesn't seem to be anything relevant on the Flikr link?

The link was broke when I posted.
It appears to be working now.

And I thought I felt weird because I was the only guy at a sewing bee on the weekend.

My brother was a truck driver, it's weird, it was his ambition from as long as I can remember, seriously, when he was a child it was all he talked about.  Did it for about a year, lost control of his rig in the snow, quit that day ;-)  Still, it's nice he knew what he wanted from life, and achieved it. How many of us ever do?
