Video Editing Software Answered

Hey everyone....

I recently acquired a digital video camera and am looking for software to capture and edit. I don't need something like FinalCut - it just needs to be able to grab stuff off my camera and have basic editing capabilities. Any recommendations on something sub $50.

Normally, I'd just use windows movie maker :P Unfortunately, its acting up (can't view any previews) and reformatting is not an option at the moment :P

if you have a mac i highly recommend just useing imovie. its quite powerful and easy to use. if your on a pc then pinnacle makes some ok programs, although i would suggest sony vegas, i dont use it myself but i hear its a good starter editor

For very basic use, there's always QuickTime Pro ($29). If allows editing and exporting to just about any format (MPEG2 is an additional cost).

I would suggest WAX, which is freeware and very good

and if you download it with Limewire, its a felony. I would try the free alternatives instead:
