Welt Pocket Answered

Would anyone be served by a welt pocket instructable? I've made these a bunch, and understand how complicated they can be to understand. But I'm not sure if there's an audience for it. Thoughts? Thanks!

Yes of course. Anything that is not seen often or is seen as too difficult needs an Instructable. Go for it I promise to look and maybe use when I need to.

Most definitely. I make kilts, not cargo kilts that have bags of stuff hanging all over them but more tradition kilts that don't make me look like a bag of door knobs. Traditional kilts don't have pockets but there sure is a need for them. It is nice to be able to pocket a cell phone or the car keys and a some money and not have to carry a man purse or wear a sporran. You pockets could work. I would hide them within the pleats of the kilt so the don't break the flow of the pleats from front to back. Really, teach us how to do it!

Please Ms. Smoochmaroo! I would be most appreciative if you'd teach us all how to do welt pockets. I have a rudimentary knowledge of sewing but I am looking to make my on cargo kilt ( ible is where I found you) Anyhow, I would be willing to do menial tasks for you for a considerable period of time if you will teach Welted pockets. De-gnoming of gardens and such. Seriously, it be great if you'd show how to do them.

Yes, please. I Answered a Question involving welted pockets a while back, and had to link off-site (gasp!) for a tutorial on how to make them.

You bet! I've avoided this finishing touch because I didn't know the technique and figured one had to have talent (i.e. professional seamstress). I know there are people out there (like me) that would pursue if the technique if it is not as difficult as imagined. If you have the time please...goferit and enlighten us/me :o)

If not now, maybe in the future someone will look for them. I am interested in just finding out what they are for now :-)

If you can make the instructions clear, complicated or no, it should be easy enough to follow step by step instructions :-) in other words, my answer to your question is, yes ;-)
