It is tin/aluminum, obviously made to be hung on a wall.

It is a vintage nesting shelf or box sometimes called a pigeon hole.

I can't find the exact one with a Google search but this chicken nesting box is about as close as you are going to get.

Well it looks galvanised so I don't think it is indoor use.

From the wheat design I would guess some kind if feeder.

Google image search says it is Antique!

Could be from a small wood fired heater as well.
Cover for the ambers and drawer for the ashes...
