What's up with slow rpm motors? Answered

What's the deal with slow rpm motors? I need one for a project and can't seem to find any online. Why not? Am I looking in the wrong place?

You may just be using the wrong terminology. Look for "gearmotor". I needed a low-RPM motor for my (designed, never built) bike-lift project, and that was the term that was successful for me.

in general, motors don't run slowly at their rated power. As kelseymh says - use a gearbox to slow it down. What kind of project?! :D

A clock-ish type thing, but it doesn't tell time, it just spins. If I make it, I will post it.
