When it comes to noises near your circut breaker, listen to your children. Answered

Well the other day I was at home and my parents were at work. I was hearing some weird noises from around our circut breaker. So I called my dad and told him I was hearing noises and it sound electrical. He didn't believe me until last night until I told him there were more noises comeing from it. So he opened the little door and flipped one of the switch thingies back and forth and it was arcing! So we replaced it and there was this weird blue purpley powder on it. So if your children hear noises around your circut breaker, you might want to check it. My mom said she heard something coming from over there but she thought it was a mouse or rat outside or in the wall. (Our neighbor has rats and they come over to our house all the time)

When I was a kid I remember telling my parents that our TV was making a high-pitched sound. They told me I was crazy. Turns out that the flyback transformer runs at about 15 kilohertz. My dad was a TV repairman...he should figured it out.

Hmm, I still hear a whine every time someone turns on a tv, either in my house, the apt. above us, or the 2 next to us. It is almost a tinnitus kind of whine and I hate it.

I think what I am hearing is the "ringing" of the HV power supplies of older tv's

Your Mom's ? Maybe if it is doing it all the time. What I hear from most tvs is only at "startup". then it goes away.

I happen to have tinitus so I don't hear the TV anymore. Actually, it's progressed into the sound of crickets chirping. It's amazing how you can get used to anything over time. Hey kids...when your parents tell you that loud rock music will ruin your ears - take their word for it!!! Last band I played in, the bass player could never hear his phone ringing due to tinitus.

One time my Mom's sisters, my one brother, my Mom and I were sitting around talking in our living room, and there was a fierce rumbling from downstairs. Every one felt it and heard it. I ran downstairs hoping the furnace hadn't blown. It turned out to be an earthquake (rare in my area).

I once told my Dad that my sister was on fire and he didn't believe me but then I remembered that I don't have a sister.
