When it rains, it pours...... Answered

Early this morning, during another bout with pneumonia, my Mother in law (my wife's Mom) passed away. I am at a loss for both words and feelings at the moment, please forgive me if I seem "absent of mind" in the next few days before my own hospital stay.

A very dear friend of my wife and myself has passed yesterday....I am preparing for the funeral today, and may sit shivah with the remaining son if invited to do so. *sigh*

To put things in perspective: death is life's way of telling us to wake up and start to DO something, rather then bide our time here, whether at work or home. The great equalizer

I mourn your loss, and hope you feel better soon. Death is hard - and although I don't know how you feel now, when my friend was struck by a speeding verizon truck, I felt horrible. Keep her memories with you, and she will always be alive in spirit.

Don't worry Mickael. I'm convinced everything will be okay for you. I phoned to God this morning to talk about you, and she told me you'll have to stay among us for a long long time. (Hmm ... Now that I'm rethinking about it, I hope she did not mean she will kill all of us at once this Monday ... Someone remember for when is planed the end of the world ???) ;o)

I too have been a victim of superglue too many times to count, cyanacrolate beystahds... Basically I learnt that getting a cup of just hot enough to stand water and putting my hand in it while heating a spoon in it is the best way to go, the spoon is then slid in and you come away with most of your skin...

Nothing as life threatening as the original tests then... Apart from the waiting about at least you might get some quiet time throughout the day...

This might end up being the roughest week of my life (the upcoming one), depending on what the visiting nurse does when she sees how my wife keeps house. They may just quarantine the house and throw everything out...and then I would be without a computer....

You know I have been using GorillazMiko glue lately but it says to use sparingly. The comments seem to thin out after a while and nothing seems to stick to fried chicken grease(shmaltz as we call it). On a serious note, best of luck to you and your family as you all learn to get stronger every day.

I am so sorry Goodhart. :( I know it hurts, having just lost my grandparents and two uncles I can relate a little. Words cannot describe the feeling. Tell your wife also I am sorry for her loss. I wish I could do something.

She is partially consoled by the fact that she was suffering with pneumonia and had troubles breathing....and now, is at rest and suffers no longer. Thank you for your thoughts.

Lots of things happing this weekend, I just hope she can hold herself together when Monday comes. She has been warned that if she comes in to see me Monday, I will not be looking like I normally do.....I will be a wee bit puffy and have tubes hanging out from all over me. She may want to wait until Tuesday....

I have super-glued my fingers together too many times to count. The other day I stuck my finger to the tube of glue, and when I managed to pull it free, there was a thin layer of epidermis left on the tube. Kinda cool, like a fingerprint.

Yes, so have I. That scene of slapping one's forehead after spilling said clue onto their hand should sound familiar to those that have watched the original muppet show series. When both Professor Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker invented the worlds strongest and fastest glue......things got a little sticky....LOL

I have been told that they do not wire the chest closed anymore after the heart surgery (hows that for a complete 180o turn on a subject?) but they glue you together. A friend of mine from the south said that is how they do everything now.....they glue it, and if the glue don't hold, they duct tape it LOL. Um, I think I will pass on the tape :-)
