Where are Gibson guitars made?
They've been made in a number of places over the years. Right now they build them in Nashville and Memphis, as well as Bozeman, MT. They started in Kalamazoo, MI, but they no longer operate that factory (it's now Heritage Guitars). If you have an authentic Gibson, you can find out more about it by looking at the serial number. Here's the link for Gibson's info on that: http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Support/SerialNumberSearch/ Some of the information may be out of date. For example, it doesn't mention the Gibson Songmaker acoustic guitars that are made in St. Johns, NL, Canada since last year. Keep in mind also that they own several other brands and the factories that go with them. It would be easy for them to ask to have a model manufactured someplace else if they wanted to.

Are you guys sure that they are not made in china? I saw a Gibson made in China, but may have been a fake. I want to buy one soon. Sure that all Gibsons not Epiphones are made in the US? Thanks, Rick
There are many Chinese "Wholesale" sites that purport to sell "Gibson" guitars with the correct headstock design and everything. They are counterfeit guitars, and if you order one, chances are you won't even get it as the seller will disappear, once you pay. (happened to me..I ordered a double neck SG from a site(knowing it was phony, but the price was good) And once they received my payment, they disappeared, all their guitars on the site were gone and they could not be found. Luckily I used Pay pal and got my money back.) Or if you do get it , it will be a cheap guitar with the Gibson Decal and inlay , but it will be a POS. Most Epis ARE made in China , Korea , etc..All Gibsons are made in USA
Which ones? L
