I have no 6 inch pans so if i use a 9 inch pan will it ruin the cake in any way?
The idea behind using 6-inch pans is that you will get height (2 inches for each cake). The cake will not be ruined if you use a 9-inch pan, it just won't be as tall. Decorating the sides of a cake is difficult when they are very short. Also, cooking times will not be the same with different sized pans so watch your cake closely in the oven!
