Depends on what you mean by zombie. There is a "state" cause by a particular poisen that resembles the "movie screen zombie" but they are not "living dead" (whatever that means: living dead is like like having your room both illuminated and dark at the same time). The word dead means bereft of life (no life in them)" so once dead one is no longer "living"

What they are saying is: If it is moving then it is alive. BUT, zombie organs cease to function so basically they are dead. But, they move without their organs functioning so they are considered "living dead(dun dun dun DDDDDDDDDDDDDUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN)"

Then they "should" say; they are the animated dead, or the dead that appear alive. ;-) Otherwise, I still think the term living dead is an oxymoron.
"Yesterday morning in the middle of the night
Two dead boys got up to fight,
back to back they faced each other
drew their swords and shot each other
a deaf policeman heard their noise,
came and shot the two dead boys...."

I believe(like in the films, I know)one day some dodgey virus will escape and destroy mankind, I'm ready though, bring it! Rabies seems a bit simaler to zombie like symptoms, well rage anyway.
