Fluffernutters! It's simply a sandwich of marshmallow creme and peanut butter, but it is quite delicious.

I don't think there is a difference, but I once thought whipped cream and whipped topping are the same. well, they're not so you'll need to read the ingredient list to make sure it's not something funny like that.

Oh, there is a difference.

All the "cremes" are gritty and a bit of a different taste. Marshmallow Fluff (TM) brand is smooth in consistency and just has a better taste. I've had the Kraft and Solo brands, as well as some other names I don't recall off hand. I would rather have real Marshmallow Fluff brand for a Fluffernutter (which is on the back of their container) over any other brand. Plus, the cremes tend to lose their air fluffiness rather quickly while the Marshmallow Fluff tends to keep it's fluffiness until near the end of the container. For cooking / melting it doesn't make much difference.

Yes, look for the fudge recipe. It is rather good.

You could try using it as a filling in a chocolate cake or fudge/cake. Use the batter in this recipe and replace the salted caramel with the marshmallow creme. I've never tried it myself but I have a feeling it could work. Let me know if you try it.

i happened to look at that very instructable just today :)
i might try that :)

Craft Brand Marshmallow cream has a great fudge recipe on the back. Or at least it use too. But you can easily find it online.

If it still vaguely resembles marshmallow, you can make rice-crispy cake, as all the ingredients get melted together anyway. If you're interested, the recepie is equal weights of marshmallow, toffee, and butter, all melted together on low heat, then add rice crispies as it cools untill it will all just about stick together.
