can you put bondo on plaster of paris? Answered

can you put bondo on plaster of paris? i want to put some kind of filler on a rounded styrofoam shape, and then use bondo to make it look like a hard plastic or metal surface

Yes. Just make sure to roughen the plaster surface so the Bondo can get a grip on it.

Are you trying to cover the styrofoam with plaster and then cover the plaster with Bondo? Why not use just one or the other? Both materials can be finished and painted. Bondo would be more substantial, but also more expensive.

Yes.

Just make sure the plaster is dry and dust free.

When you sand the bondo to feather the edges in be very careful. Plaster of paris is MUCH softer than bondo.
