clean a pot that has been used to cook crab? Answered

We cook crab after taking off the back etc. The pot is hard to clean as little bits of debris get stuck on the pan (I use a stainless steel pot). Any suggestions on how to have this stuff come off easier? Would spraying the pot before with PAM make any difference to taste of crab, or cleaning pot?

whenever i have crud stuck to my pots and pans i boil water in it and the stuff comes off every time. If you have "nice" pans and you don't want them scratched i wouldn't use any powder based cleaner they're too abrasive. you can also use oven cleaner to get off really old staining (you know the black stuff that's on the bottom) just let it set for a bit and it should come off fairly easily.

After a normal wash with hot soapy water, try a paste made of equal parts baking soda, dishwashing liquid and water. Apply everywhere, scrub everywhere, rinse out. Re-do any problem areas, scrubbing with a brush if necessary. Hope this helps. :)
