It's like gearing, if you view the wheels as one set and the ground as another. Like dilandou says you have a greater potential top speed, but less torque at the wheel. "Same rpm" = faster, yes.

I would recomend more power so that you can keep you acceleration also

It will have a higher top speed, but lower acceleration.
