I am making red velvet cinnamon rolls. All I have is self rising flour. It asks for all purpose flour and yeast. Can I use the flour I have? Do I still use the yeast?

I accidently used 3 cups of self rising flour instead of plain flour along with a pack of yeast. Will my light rolls be eatable ????
For those who think there are no recipes for bread that contains both yeast and baking powder here's one for you.It is a very old recipe I have in my book, we call it C.D.Q stands for CAN-DO Quick Bread. Farmers wife's who were pressed for time, use to make this high rise bread loaf. well here's a list of ingredients. I just found a link with the same recipe I have. jtobako is kinda right: self-rising flour contains baking powder and salt, which can kill yeast if in direct contact. The following assumes you are trying to make a yeast dough (rather than a quick bread): If manually making your dough, I'd work the yeast in the wet ingredients, work in the other ingredients with the flour last. I haven't used a bread machine in a long time, but I recall the yeast was usually layered next to the flour. For the reasons stated, I'd move the yeast layer farther away from the flour. And of course, the soda and salt affect flavor, so please remove or reduce the salt called for in the recipe. Hope this helps. GL
It depends upon what bread you wish to make.Soda bread is a type of bread which uses baking soda (not very far from baking powder) instead of yeast.You could make a bread with self-raising flour, but being cheap and easily available, I'd suggest you have a go and find out?L
Self rising flour is just flour with baking soda in it. It's for short bread like biscuits or pancakes not yeast bread.
