how can i identify the component in an old digital voice mail machine that stores audio info? Answered

Basically I found an old digital Panasonic "Messaging System" that doesn't work, but I'm stripping it for parts. Does anyone know which part likely has the memory for audio files or where I could locate it? At the very least I got a speaker out of it :P

Start looking at the components on the board. Write down all the information you can find on the top of each IC. Then start Googling that information to find the data sheets on each IC. One of the ICs will be a CMOS or flash memory chip. Likely made by Samsung. In order to use that memory chip you will need the accompanying circuit that is able to read from the chip.

Can you show a picture of it.

Have you Googled for a schematic diagram?

Any answering machine has to have some kind of memory to record the messages Where? likely a chip with a LOT of pins. Start looking for numbers and checking them through Google.
