how do i load up trimmer line onto the spool? i can never get it right
You haven't said what type of spool it is. Guessing at the design - pull a long length, mark it in the middle somehow. There's a tether on the spool, a couple of holes? it threads through that like the last piece of line. Wrap one half clockwise in one channel and the other half anticlockwise in the other. L

thanks for your advice everyone :) i tried lemonies tip and haven't had any trouble since!
Go to the store and buy a fixed-line trimmer head. Replacing the line is about 1000 times easier, and it never gets tangled.
Try to wind it in layers to it doesn't bunch up and get tangled as it comes out. You have to wind it in the right direction. They don't all turn the same way. If you wind it and it doesn't come out then take it off and rewind it the other direction.
