Hacking the password is tough. Most Windows installations store passwords in a non-reversible format, so you have to play a guessing game. There are tools that allow you to use the user's web browsing habits, or word lists to build possible password lists, and there are others that can brute force the password if you think it's a super easy one.

However, as an IT guy, whenever my users need me to unlock their machines, I just go ahead and remove the password altogether using one of a few password recovery disks. I'd try this technique first, but there are plenty others.
