how to make a sonic screwdriver sound with a synthesizer?

I am going to 3d print a sonic screwdriver from Doctor Who and I have everything figured out except one thing. How do you make a synthesizer made with a 555 timer chip make the same sound as a sonic screwdriver? If it needs two chips, I can do that. Thanks for any help in advance!

You can't. a 555 or 556 won't be able to produce the sound. I suggest finding a good audio file of the sound and hacking one of those record able greeting cards into your build with the sound recorded onto it. This way you have a small, low power audio solution.

That's a good idea. Might end up doing that!

Well they have a few mill invested in special effects equipment in a movie studio so I think any one can exactly reproduce the right sound for under a buck.

However I agree with Kiteman and with mpilchfamily you can do both and still have fun at Comacon.

I missed the don't in So I don't think anyone can.

There have been a lot of sonic screwdriver sound effects over the decades, but I don't think any could be reproduced accurately with a 555.

However, because there have been so many sounds, you should be able to get away with most beepy/buzzy/squiggly noises you can make with a 555.
