how to turn adblock off? Answered

On some of the instructables I view, when I click on the small pictures under the large ones it opens a new window with a small image.
On others it enlarges the small picture into the large picture window on the instructable. I read on one of these such problem pages
that you have to turn off "adblock" . How do I do this?

Instructables staff are aware of an issue with image thumbnails, and are working on finding a solution as soon as possible. In the mean time, you can add your comments to THIS BUG REPORT. Make sure to include in your comments that you are using IE8 and specify the exact problem. Updates will be posted there as well.

Adblock Plus is a popular add-on for the Firefox web browser that prevents ads from loading. Apparently some part of the Ibles code that loads secondary images looks like an ad script, so they are prevented from loading.

If you are using Firefox and Adblock, go to the Tools>Add-Ons menu and add instructables.com to the whitelist of domains for which Adblock is disabled, and that should fix the problem. If you aren't using Firefox or Adblock, then you have an unrelated bug and might want to file a bug report in the Help forum.

Rereading your description, you have a different problem. With the Adblock issue, when you click on the small images nothing happens at all. Yours is a minor bug that's been around for a while, I suspect it has to do with all the fancy code not being fully loaded before you try to get it to change pictures. What browser are you using?

Also middle clicking the 'abp stop sign' icon if one is showing will disable/reenable it.
