The easiest way is to wire the pickups like the old MIJ guitars--three separate DPDT toggle switches, each with a center-off position (the Japanese used slider switches).

One DPDT switch per pickup will give you the following options:

--pickup normal polarity
--pickup off (center position)
--pickup reverse polarity

So with all the switches in the first position, all the pickups would be "on" simultaneously.

Three switches are more complicated than a five-position switch, but have more pickup combinations. For instance, with this setup you can easily switch in just the neck and the bridge pickup together, something you cannot do with a 5-position...

Why would you want to do that? You will run into several problems.

I don't think any of the versions are wired that way from the factory.  But honestly, I'm not sure which switch positions turn on which pickups on my guitar.  I just know how it sounds and where to put the switch to get that sound.  Now, what I can do with it is a different story.

But here is a link that should be helpful to you.
