Is jailbreaking a itouch worth it. i'm getting one tommorow. Also is instlliuos illegal?
I would say so, but im already jailbroken, and out of warranty. Jailbreaking is questionably legal. i believe that when i buy a device, its mine to do what i want with, including loading another os. It is cracking the apple os though. installous, is without a doubt, illegal. Its an application for pirating cracked applications.

Depends on what you're trying to get out of the iPod Touch. There are a ton of cool free apps that are only available on a Jailbroken iPhone / iPod Touch. That said, I personally think it's far too much of a pain to keep up with all the updates to the core OS. It always seems like another OS update comes out and you're then far too busy to update your jailbroken iPod. The process to update can change with each release. It's not overly difficult, but still requires a bit of time. You can also run into various random problems like lockups, etc. on a jailbroken iPod (not that this doesn't also happen on a fully legit iPod too). You're left without support from Apple, but then again there is a huge community of people that have jailbroken iPods out there ready to help you. Unless you have a specific reason to jailbrake (usualy an app or two that draws you to it), I say don't bother. It's a pain to maintain.
Thanks for the help
Depends entirely on what you want to do with it. Remember, jailbreaking means that if anything goes wrong they're entitled to blame you and refuse to fix it. So I would say that if you have to ask, it isn't worth it to you, or at least not yet. Wait until you find something that you Really Need that can only be done by jailbreaking... and that is worth the risk.
