magnet powered LED Answered

ok i remember seeing something, or maby its just a thought in the back of my head. but is there a way to make a led light up when you move a magnet by it or something like that?

no i mean you just move a magnet by it and it lights up.

The link I gave works by moving the magnet quickly past a coil of wire. That is the only way to power an LED with a magnet.

If you just want to switch the power on, then all you need to do is include a reed switch in your circuit, in a similar method to this project.

Yes, the reed switch in the project or Hall effect switch (FET) would work as well.
