max output current of cc cv led driver if i use leds in parallel? Answered

I was thinking of using some 2w leds which i already have for home emergency lighting setup. I was thinking of using

http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-PCS-Led-Driver-For-1w-watt-led-MR16-1X1W-3X1W-led-light-bulb-DC-12V-/191066699095?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c7c767557

as the driver of the leds. And i was wondering if i could run 2 of the leds in parallel from that driver. i will be using a leatsink for each of the leds.

So... the main question is how much current would each of the leds be reciving from one driver. will it be 350ma to each of the led or 350ma total to both the leds... ie 175ma to each led.

Thank you

2 LEDs in parallel use twice the current of one LED

2 LEDS in series use the same current as one LED BUT twice the voltage.

Think of it this way all of the current has to flow through all of the components, if you have 2 components in series then the same current flows through both - If you have 2 components in parallel you have to feed them with the current they require so the current branches. As LEDS as current drive to feed two LEDS you need twice the current of one LED (assuming they both require the same current)

Thank you for your reply.

But i wanted to know another thing about the led drivers. The stated power of the led driver, ie 350ma, is that absolute max that it will provide, ie, no matter how many leds i connect to it in parallel ? or will it increase with the no. of leds i connect to it in parallel ?

Its a CONSTANT CURRENT, that means it will output ONLY 350mA.

You will probably find one LED hogging 300mA, and 50 going into the other....

That's disappointing.... :(

But thanks for the answer...
