microphone help? Answered

I'm hoping that you Audio folks can help me out here. I'm trying to make my own microphone setup for gaming, however the only problem that I am having as of right now is that I cannot figure out how to connect the earbud with the microphone itself. If anybody has any ideas as to how to do this please let me know, I am also hoping that I can do this without an op amp as I have never used them before and am completely clueless when it comes to how they work, if somebody wants to let me know how they work and how to set one up then I'm all ears ( or eyes in this case )

I thank you in advance for your assistance.

Buy one, don't waste time trying to make one.

Every computer has a "microphone" input. Just get a cheap microphone at the dollar store or at walmart and plug it in. You could even plug a small speaker into the "microphone" jack and the speaker will work as a microphone. Unless you are making some kind of special microphone like a repleca of a "jet fighter" helmet or something, it makes no sense to make your own just buy one for a couple bucks and plug it in.

Then... in your sound-software, you may need to click on the "microphone" input selection as the input device.

Here's something easier - go buy yourself a USB sound card and plug both of them right in.

You could use this, for example:
