redirected to a supicious site Answered

ok guys, I dont know if anybody else has noticed this so here goes.  I was viewing this: https://www.instructables.com/id/Party-Crackers/ , instructable at 8:01PM tonight.  When without even touching my mouse I was redirected here: http://malwarealsscan.com/index.php?affid=91107 ( I would advise NOT clicking this).  I'm not sure if this is something dangerous or if it is an ad for something.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Does anybody know anything about this?

FYI, some of the ad providers that we (and most other internet sites) use were serving compromised ads. The problem is fixed, but I'm sure we haven't seen the end of it - scammers and spammers are always trying to find new ways in. As a general rule of thumb, trust nothing that appears without explicit effort on your part! Good job not clicking on the fake virus scan/malware link: Internet safety 101.

Try installing adblock...

I've had this same thing pop up on quite a few instructibles I was looking at.  I believe it is a ad thatis on the site that pops up when you mouse over certian adds.  I've seen this same thing on other sites around the net.  It's just another bad ad trying to scare you to "buy" thier crap scan.  Close and ignore it.  But run a virus scan, with your own scanner, just to make sure.

this scan ad is for norton 360 antivirus. at least every time i see it there is a norton ad on the page.

Ironicly it just popped up while i was reading your coment. :0

That's happened to me before when I loaded Killerk's profile one time. Immediately my antivirus popped up and told me there was a virus or something.

ok... this site here is a bad site. i reccomend closing it as fast as possible. i had it hit me once, and then my computer was infected with a lot of viruses. if the site happens to attack you again, run a virus scan afterwards.

Are your firewall & AV up to date?

Yes I updated them not too long ago, so they should be up to date.
