sub mini fridge Answered

I just got some soldering paste and I need to keep it cool. The temperature has to be above freezing, but still cool. Currently I'm keeping it in my fridge, but I don't want to keep it there once I break the seal (for safety reasons). I can't do that one mod using the 12 volt camper cooler, I don't have a camper cooler. I can't afford a mini-fridge. Just seeing if anyone here has any ideas. If nobody has any then I'm going to buy this USB micro fridge wwhich will keep it cool for $15.

I got mine from dealextreme:

I got this (simply because the review had a clear example of it working: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7952

Or you could get this, it seems to work for other people, I just got the other one because they had an example of it working and the other one is a bit cheaper (all just to pay that huge shipping amount, lol)

I have not seen a usb fridge myself, But I seriously doubt that they really work as the usb can only supply about 500ma max. And I doubt 2.5 watts is going to cool anything.

yeah, reading more into it it takes a long long time to cool stuff. As for my problem right now my dad's letting me keeping it in the fridge as long as it's in a plastic bag. If I was ever to mass produce something (my cnc machine is about half way done so I might!) then I'll buy or build a mini fridge.

. Not sure why the re-sealed container would be unsafe, but if it has you worried, put the paste container in an empty coffee can (or other sealed container just slightly larger than the paste) and put that in the 'fridge.

Just remember not to touch the can if you have any of the substance on your fingers...or you are back to square one | ;-)
