suggestion for contests Answered

In the contests tab when you list all the contests can you sort them in increasing order of end dates. That is, contests closing sooner are listed higher in the list. Those that have closed would always be at the bottom of the list.

This makes it easier to quickly identify contests which have very less time left and jolt our grey cells into action.

On a similar note, a graphical printable calendar schedule of all the contests for the next 3 months or so that I can pin up on my wall as a reminder to submit an entry would be nice. Printable post it type notes might also help, this way I take a printout of those contests I am interested in and paste them on my wall calendar. (now there's an idea for an ible :-) )

Thanks for your suggestions! I know there is a new version of the contest page in the works that might fix some of the issues. I'm also wanted one that's a little more organized with categories like "coming soon" "open" "ending soon" and "closed.

At one time we had a contest teaser schedule in the author newsletter, but that's not happening anymore. I've decided I'm going to be posting a contest schedule in the contests forums - it will be stickied and I'll keep it updated.

It won't be graphic or pretty - but it'll at least let the community know what's coming up! The only issue is that all contests are subject to change because we're deciding to do new things or getting new prizes or sponsors, so there will be lots of disclaimers. :D

Thanks for the suggestions. We've discussed reordering the contests to "ending soonest" but sometimes that doesn't work as some contests are a longer duration (as they may require longer lead-time for submissions) and would not show up at the top until it's too late. We like the ideas though, so keep them coming!

This would be better posted under "feedback".
