what do you do for the gas/air ratio on a weedeater 2-stroke? Answered

i made a motor bike and i rode it over 137 miles so far, it hasn't given me much problems except one day it lost compression so i rebuilt it and i put in a new sparkplug and rebuilt the carb after it was running better than ever and the next day i went to ride it and it wouldn't start so i cleaned the carb again, then it was working again but it was like there wasn't any gas, i used to be able to go 29mph now i can only go 16mph with the wind, if i give it too much throttle it will bog down and slow down, so i can only give 1/4 throttle. i have tried messing with the pin in the carb and the tuning screw but they don't seem to do any  thing, what is wrong?

. You probably screwed up when you put the carb back together. It's probably fixable. . There are small passages that are much too easy to restrict/plug if you don't know what to look for. There can also be other parts who's function may not be obvious. Find a manual for the carb and make sure you are putting it back together correctly. . You probably also need to replace all the gaskets. . Make sure that the fuel line into the carb is in good shape. It can become plugged with no outward signs.

the fuel lines have been replaced a couple months ago and are still in good shape but the gasket from carb to cylinder is torn just a little could that be the problem? i am pretty sure i put it together right but is there a certain way you have to put back the pin? one thing about the carb is there is only one tuning screw. i have fixed weedeaters before but this just is weird cuz i have no idea what is wrong with it.

> the gasket from carb to cylinder is torn
.  That's where I'd start.
.  If that doesn't fix it, I'd get a gasket/rebuild kit and rebuild the carb again. It's a good idea to replace the gaskets every time you disassemble a carb.
