I use pliers all the time. if the piece is too small, then I get a hammer and chissel.

Wire cutters cut through them like butter. I recommend sanding the edges.

I like #7 best.
for rods i use a little hand saw and for connectors i use a flathead screwdriver and a hammer. like say you need a little clip thing off of a connector you put the flat head of the screwdriver on the part you want off then take a hammer and hit the end of screwdriver. comes off like a charm.
