Well, on our i/macbooks safari even has problems with httpauth and some JS.
I personaly preferr opera, but thats probably the same as with a religion :-)
Firefox would be the best choice, since its a great browser- and open source. Lots of plugins available, too.

OPERA OPERA OPERA! I luvs me some Opera. And what do you mean load pics? Every browser can view JPEGS, PNGS, bitmaps etc. Opera is better than the rest. I don't care what anybody else says.

You right click and go to site preferences and make it mask itself as IE or Firefox. It's lotsa fun tricking websites like that xD

In that order... Safari, Firefox, Opera. The reason is that Safari is much better integrated into the OS and at my connection speed, I can't see the difference in picture loading. Safari also has the feature of allowing you to place links into the dock.

Your problem is your Quicktime Plugin settings. It took me a while to find and correct this problem too. Open your Quicktime Preference Pane (In System Preferences) and select the Advanced tab. Click on the Mime Settings... button and turn off the following checkboxes (Click the arrow to the left of each group to turn off subitems): Images -> FlashPix Image Images -> PDF Image Miscellaneous - Flash Media Miscellaneous - Quicktime HTML (QTML) Everything else should stay on. This had me pulling what little hair I had left for a while. It works fine now.

Well, I only use Safari on Macs, and the macs that I normally use are slower than mollases, so I will say Firefox, Safari, Opera. I am just used to Firefox, even if it sometimes is slow, its fine for my needs.
