This contest closed in 2012. Looking for the 2018-9 Autodesk Make It Real Challenge? Find it at makingstartshere.com/contest
This is your chance to win an Objet 3D Printer with a 6 month supply of 3D printing materials. Ten first prize winners will receive an Up! 3D Printer. Twenty runners-up will receive free 3D printing services.
To enter, post an Instructable that has anything in it that was at least partially designed using a computer: a sticker, a 3D printed object, laser-cut files, an electronics schematic, and even an inkjet printer template. So long as something in your project involved computer design (a digital sketch, 2D files, schematics, or a 3d model) before you built the physical object, your Instructable is eligible!
If you need software to help generate design files for your project, check out all of the free 3D modeling software in the 123D family, or draw out your design with SketchBook.
Anyone who shares the digital files that they create in the 123D Gallery and posts a link to it in their Instructable will receive a free thank you gift from 123D (see details here) and then be eligible to win the special 123D Judges Prize.
Multiple entries are accepted, but each entrant can only win one prize. Contest is open to entries from US, Canada [excluding Quebec], UK, Australia, China, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Contest closes for entries at 11:59pm PT, June 4, 2012.
Create a new Instructable that fits the guidelines outlined in the contest description above. To be eligible, Instructables must be published between Jan 31, 2012 and Jun 4, 2012 (11:59pm PT).
Upon publishing your Instructable you'll see checkboxes for open contests. Select Make It Real Challenge. If you have entries currently eligible for entry, it will also show up by clicking "Enter this Contest" on the right side of this page.
Entries are accepted by Instructables staff within one business day Monday - Friday. What matters is the submission time, not acceptance time.
A panel of judges made up of Instructables staff and respected members of the community rate the finalists. The averages of the ratings determine the winners.
When the winners are decided they will be notified and announced here on the contest page.
