Introduction: How to Install Steam Link on Raspberry Pi 3

Hello, today I am going to show you that how to install Steam on your Raspbian loaded Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ board. This is brand-new feature announced yesterday by Steam (04.12.2018) for ending the feature for Steam-Link to let you share the view of your gameplay from your PC to wide screen TVs.

I think this feature is very unique for us as known that we are Raspberry Pi users who loves to make developments and try new cool technologies

What you need list:

1. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ (Raspbian Loaded)

2. Internet connection

Step 1: Install Steam Into Raspberry Pi 3

In order to install Steam into Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, use the code to run on LXTerminal where you write Python codes to command your Raspberry Pi

curl -#Of http://media.steampowered.com/steamlink/rpi/steamlink_1.0.4_armhf.deb

The code screen will show you 100.0% at the end of the process, then run the code below:

sudo dpkg -i steamlink_1.0.4_armhf.deb

Okay, done!

Step 2: Run Steam on Raspberry Pi 3

Now, go to the application menu on your desktop >> Games >> Steam Link

This will put shortcut of Steam logo onto your desktop automatically (if you don't want, simply delete the icon maybe)

After loading's splash screen of Steam Link, the screen will pop-up full screen >> Get Started

If there is a controller, you can pair on this page, if there is none, just skip at the bottom.

If there is a controller, you can Rescan it and bind with your Raspberry Pi via Bluetooth.

Don't forget to join at the same Wi-Fi network to let devices find each other instead of using Bluetooth.

You can also input hostname or IP address to scan the device in local.
