Introduction: 10-second Checkers

Checkers or Draughts is a classic game. Most popular version is played on 8x8 board. Making a reduced version reduces the number of possible moves and the time of the game.

This mini version of this game has brought a lot of smiles to peoples' faces. Go ahead, make your own version of this game and see yourself.

It is possible to play the same game on a corner of the news paper with apple seeds or create a huge version of it.

Here is a pocket sized version - fits into the matchbox.

Supplies

  • Matchbox
  • 2 + 2 game pieces
  • Marker

Step 1: Flip the Matchbox

That's for finding a suitable place for drawing the playing ground.

Step 2: Mark the 4x4 Area

Use the marker (stickers, ballpoint pen, lipstick) to create the battle field.

Step 3: Add the Game Pieces

I used the 1x1 Lego bricks this time, but you really can use anything.

You can start playing now.

Step 4: Put It Into Your Pocket

No surprise - the matchbox can fit into the pocket.

Go ahead and surprise your friend with a present or a challenge someone in a mini game!
