Introduction: 1:1 Scale Movie Prop Papercraft
I have designed several 1:1 scale paper models of props from my favorite movies. PDF templates of each of these are available for download at my blog:
http://tektonten.blogspot.com/ (look for links on the right side of the page)
All that is required in order to build one for yourself is to print the template on cardstock then fold and glue according to the included instructions. I hope to post more full scale movie props in the future.

OMG! Is that the mask from the creature thing in Spirited Away?

Why, yes it is. :)

Hal! Read that book.

Thats very cool! I downloaded the HAL template, but it looks really pixelated?

Yes, the template does look somewhat pixelated on the computer screen, but I think you will find when it is printed it appears much smoother. Also please realize that that particular model was my very first papercraft design. ;) I am getting better with each one. Compare the HAL 9000 with the more recent Headpiece to the Staff of Ra and you will see what I mean.

Ah ok, i understand if its one of your first ones, i work in the design and print business, so i know that its too pixelated for my likings.. I think i will redraw it in illustrator.

Did you ever get a chance to re-do it less pixelated?

Once you are finished with your Illustrator redraw would you mind sending it to me in .jpg or similar format? I would love to see how it turns out.

Hmmm..... if only there was a model of the black night's helmet too... or the rabbit.
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
Yes, I think you may be on to something...
Reply 14 years ago on Introduction
Wouldn't be that hard to make the helmet... just a big black cylinder with eyeholes... and those little holes.

Hey thanks for the suggestion! I was already thinking of some time doing a slideshow of my comic book papercrafts which would include Thor's hammer. I also have another pizza in progress so maybe when that is done I will do a pizza papercraft slideshow too.
