Intro: 12 Gage Zipper Pulls

Here’s a unique way to get a handle on a zipper while showcasing something you like. To remove the plastic housing from the brass heat it with a heat gun until the plastic is soft. The shell will slide right off with a little encouragement. Next drill a small hole in the shell, run some cord through it, and tie a knot to secure it. Follow step 7 from DIY cufflinks to set a picture in the opening of the shell. The image shown belongs to an awesome art gallery in Kentucky.

Use an expended cartridge. That means a shell that has already been shot. Do not under any circumstances use live ammo.

Can anybody off any EASY suggestions on how to remove the primer stem on the inside of the 12g brass base without removing it?
I don't understand why you insist to use only expended cartridges... Using live ammo would make the manufacturing process much more fun and interesting (although a little bit unpredictable). And moreover, the heat method of cartridge disassembling would be much faster and efficient.

;-p

BTW: Your DIY jewellery is really, really great!
that's a really cool idea. I love the look of it!
You could glue a button compass in the brass base. It will not affect the compass and would look pretty cool.
