Intro: 12 Shot NERF Maverick (Swing Reload)

This was kind of an impulse build so it's really rough and it's also my first NERF instructable, so any comments, ideas, or thoughts on how to better the design or the instructable would be appreciated. Now on to the idea, basically it is a double barreled Maverick in which the barrels "swing" in and out of the gun.

STEP 1: Tools

the only uncommon tool i used was a hand-held hack-saw my brother has.
other than that i used a Phillips head screw-driver, a pair of pliers and some wire cutters

STEP 2: Lots of Hacking

you need to hack away as much of the gray bits at the ends of the barrels as you can. (be careful not to cut the orange bits under the bigger gray piece)

then you'll have to cut away some of the casing. The parts that cover the barrel on the right side and and some of the casing where the gray pieces attach to it.

and the small pieces inside that are meant to hold those pieces in place.

STEP 3: Reassembly

Set one of the barrels into the gun and let it hang through the other side (make sure it clears the half dome part of the casing) then set the other in and let it lock into place.

Replace the other half of the case and screw it back together

STEP 4: Notes

In testing i noticed that you have to hold down the button in order to get the barrels in and out.
While holding the button you can flick the gun and the barrels will swing through, one in one out, however they tend to not slide in all the way and you may have to jiggle it a bit to get it in place.
Again this was done on impulse with little planning any ideas on how to better the design are welcome even a better instructable if you try this mod yourself

Hmm, the pics are a tad fuzzy and the instructions are kind of vague, BUT.... *eyes his mavericks* This is so tempting to try.... Idea: 4 stars ible: 2.5 stars awesomeness: 3.5 stars over all: 3.5 stars, nice idea!

I think if you removed the bit of plastic below where the barrels are and put a metal rod, then made up a V shaped bit of something connected to the barrel at the top of the V and the bottom on the rod, you could fit maybe 4-5 barrels then :D

ive seen one with 3 on nerfhaven but i dont have the supplies for it something like that right now

I know i've seen this done before, on nerfhaven i think, that person also made one with three turrets attatched to it. This still looks like you did a great job and that must've been hard to make.
